How to use BBMP Green App

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched an unique app called “BBMP Green”, which enables people to get various tree saplings free of charge for planting them in their homes and neighbourhoods, and taking care of these saplings like their own children.

These are small actions anyone can take to make Bengaluru as the top most Green City in India.

DOWNLOAD BBMP GREEN APP FROM GOOGLE PLAYSTORE

You can place a request for tree saplings by filling in your name, mobile number, select the tree species and number of saplings, the location you want to plant and your ward number.

1. You can place a request for up to 50 saplings.
2. A resident’s welfare association (RWA) can get up to 200 saplings.

Here is the Step by Step procedure on how to use BBMP GREEN app

Step 1: Your Profile.
Please provide your Name, Mobile number and then Press Next to proceed.

Step 2: Select Sapling.
Select the Tree Saplings from the sixteen different varieties of saplings which are available with the BBMP.

16 SPECIES GIVEN FOR FREE TO PLANT

• Wood trees: Honge, Mahagony
• Flowering trees: Holedasavala, Huvarasi, Sampige, Basavanapada, Tabubia, Jacaranda, Tabebuia Guayacan
• Fruity beating trees: Kadubadami, Jamun, Gooseberry, Cherry
• Medicinal trees: Neem, Simarouba, Tapasi

Step 3: Set Location.

Set the Location you want to plant using Google maps inside App and Click Next.

Step 4: Submit.

You can see your ward and your reference number for the request.

After the completion of all these four steps, then you will be notified by SMS acknowledging your request and further intimated to collect your saplings from the respective BBMP Park in your ward.
These nurseries are in Kempapura (East zone), Atturu, Dairy Circle, Kempapura (Mahadevapura zone) and Koodlu.

Introduction: Our honorable Prime Minister “Narendra Modi” launched the mobile payment app BHIM (Bharath Interface for Money) which is developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) the umbrella organization for all retail payment system in India. BHIM is an aggregator for all UPI-based services offered by banks. BHIM app supports in different languages like Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Tamil, and Telugu. You can do mobile registration retry through OTP / USSD. You can also improve privacy settings with an option to disable mobile-number@upi.

What is UPI or Unified Payment Interface?

It is a payment system that allows money transfer between any two bank accounts just by using a Smartphone.
You must sign up for UPI-based payments on your bank account, which is linked to your mobile number to carry out digital transactions using BHIM app.

BHIM is an app that lets you make easy and quick payment transactions using UPI. It’s
easier than Wallets! You will not have to fill-out those tedious bank account details again
and again. You can easily make direct bank to bank payments and instantly collect money
using just Mobile number or Payment address.

2. Send Money to Aadhaar Number
3. Request or Send Money to Mobile number
4. Send Money through MMID, Mobile No.
5. Send Money through IFSC code, Account No.
6. In addition, you can use the scan and pay option for Merchant payments

What are the differences between Mobile Wallet and BHIM App?

Mobile Wallet:
1. You can only store limited amount of money in a mobile wallet.
2. You can only send to someone who is using the same wallet.

BHIM App:
1. 10,000 can be sent per transactions and up to 20,000 in any 24 hours.
2. BHIM App is an UPI based, and thus linked directly to a bank account. Payee just needs UPI activated bank account.
3. There’s also an option of creating your own Quick Response code (QR code) for a fixed amount of money through which merchant can scan to make the deduction.

How to get started with BHIM app?

Step 1: Download and Install BHIM app from Google Play store.
Step 2: Select your preferred language.
Step 3: Select SIM which has mobile number that is registered with bank CBS.
Step 4: Login by setting a 4 digit application password.
Step 5: Link your bank accounts using bank account option.
Step 6: Set your UPI PIN by providing last 6 digits of debit card and expiry date of debit card.
Step 7: Visit Profile option and set virtual payment address (VPA)s (2 virtual payment address
(VPA)s are allowed per user 1. mobno@upi, 2. name@upi).
Step 8: Set one virtual payment address (VPA) as a primary virtual payment address (VPA) ( Ex.
name@upi can be primary virtual payment address (VPA) making it easy to share with others).
Step 9: QR code feature is available, by using Scan and Pay option send and collect money
anytime.
Step 10: Send, receive, collect money using virtual payment address (VPA), Account number +
IFSC ,Scan and Pay option.

How does BHIM App actually work?

BHIM app users require three things inorder to send, receive money through the BHIM app in this rapidly moving cashless world.
1. Passcode.
2. Payment Address.
3. UPI personal identification number (PIN).

Step by Step procedure on how to create each one of them above.

Things that are absolutely necessary.
1. You need to have a bank account with your mobile number registered with the bank.

2. Download the BHIM app from Google Play Store on your Android phone, which is from National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

3. Passcode: Once you downloaded the BHIM app, you will be asked to create a passcode. It works only as an access code and keeps individuals, including colleagues, family members and friends away from accidentally accessing it.

4. Payment Address: Your Payment Address will be your mobile number@UPI, and you need to share that with others to receive money from them. You can also create a custom Payment Address by your name in addition to your phone number, for example, yourname@UPI.

How to know the Primary linked account with BHIM app?

Currently , you can only link to one bank account with BHIM app.
Let’s say, you select HDFC Bank. The moment you select it, the next page shows you the last four digits of the bank account number and the IFSC code. It confirms that your account is linked. This will be your primary linked account.

Once you get into the BHIM app using the passcode, you’ll going to see the home page which will show you three buttons:

1. Transactions: This will show you transactions made by you in the past and any pending transactions.
2. Profile: This will show your Payment Address, i.e., mobile number@UPI .
3. Bank account: This will show the primary linked account or the default account, IFSC code, reset or change UPI PIN and Request Balance.

How to Create UPI PIN in BHIM app?

The PIN will be required for transferring and receiving funds.
1.Go to Homepage.
2.Click on the Bank Accounts > Set UPI-PIN > for the selected account.
3.You will be prompted to enter the last 6 digits of your Debit/ATM card along with the expiry date.
4.You will then receive a One-time Password (OTP), which you will enter and set your UPI PIN.

How to send money from BHIM app?

Step 1: Click on SEND.
Step 2: Enter Payment Address, i.e., mobile number@UPI. If you have the virtual payment address (VPA), you can also use it for transactions through BHIM.
Step 3: Enter the amount you want to send and also enter Remarks.
Step 4: Tap Pay.

How to send money from BHIM app using Account number and IFSC code?

Step 1: Click on SEND.
Step 2: Click on right top (Account + IFSC) .
Step 3: Enter Account Number and IFSC code.
Step 4: Click Send.

How to Request money from BHIM app?

Step 1: Click on Request.
Step 2: Enter Payment Address, i.e., mobile number@UPI. If you have the virtual payment address (VPA), you can also use it for transactions through BHIM.
Step 3: Enter the amount you want to send and also enter Remarks.
Step 4: Enter Validity Date.
Step 5: Tap Request.

How to Generate QR code for a particular amount of money using BHIM app?

Step 1: Click on Right top QR code sign.
Step 2: Enter Amount and Remarks.
Step 3: Click on Generate QR code to generate QR code for a particular amount of money.

How to Scan QR code & Pay using BHIM app?

Step 1: Click on Scan & Pay.
Step 2: Scan QR code.
Step 3: Enter the Amount that you to Pay.
Step 4: Tap on Pay.

What are the charges for using BHIM app?

For Smart Phones with Internet option BHIM can be executed via the app (available in Play store and coming soon for iPhone app store), whereas for feature phones, BHIM can be executed via phone dialer using *99# option.
The charges for BHIM is one time SMS charges depending on the mobile operator (Standard SMS charges of your operator).

For *99# the charges are Rs.0.50/- for one transaction. It is up to bank’s discretion to levy any charges on the customers for using BHIM.

From NPCI there are no charges levied upon the customer.

How to report issues to banks and view the status of resolution in BHIM app?

Step 1: Click Transaction option on Home Page.
Step 2: Select the declined transactions (highlighted in Red).
Step 3: Click on report issue or call bank.

How to sync UPI PIN changed in some other app inside BHIM app?

Step 1: Go to Homepage.
Step 2: Click on the Bank Accounts.
Step 3: Click on the Sync in order to update it in BHIM app.

How to restore forgotten passcode inside BHIM app?

If you have forgotten the old passcode then you can easily restore forgotten passcode.
Step 1: Go to App Home Screen.
Step 2: Click on Accounts.
Step 3: Tap on Forgot UPI-PIN ( for the desired bank account).

Make sure to keep your debit card details handy and validate through a OTP.

How to Send Money to Aadhaar Numbers from BHIM App?

Step 1: Open the BHIM app on your phone.
Step 2: Tap Send Money.
Step 3: Tap the three dots on the top-right. Choose Aadhaar Pay.
Step 4: Enter the recipient’s Aadhaar number.
Step 5: Tap Verify. This will check if the Aadhaar number is linked to a bank account.
Step 6: The next step will show you the person’s Aadhaar number. Make sure you double-check this as it doesn’t show the account holder’s name.

Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) app is now available for Apple users.
Indigenous digital payments app BHIM, which the government has developed for fast and secure cashless transactions, has been launched for the iOS platform.

Step 2: Search for the BHIM app by National Payment Corporation of India.
Step 3: Find the app in search results and tap on it to go to its details page.

You can connect your family or friend’s mobile numbers to your account and allow them to recharge their phone easily too!

You, and your family & friends can now recharge your mobile phones just by giving a missed call to 73 08 08 08 08.

Key Features

  • You need to activate this feature by sending an SMS (as mentioned in Get Started) to 73 08 08 08 08 (to be done just once)
  • You can set up to 5 mobile numbers to your account for recharges
  • 1 mobile number can be connected to only 1 bank account number at a time.
  • Recharge amount can be between Rs. 10-500.
  • Default Top Up amount is Rs. 50. This amount can be changed by sending an SMS (as mentioned in Get Started) to 73 08 08 08 08
  • Maximum 1 recharge per mobile number per day

Here’s how to activate

Activating this is simple, just send the following SMS to 73 08 08 08 08 (one-time activation):

  • For your own number:
    ACT <Operator Name> <Last 5 digits of Account No>
    Eg: ACT IDEA 12345
  • For your friend’s / family member’s or any other mobile numbers:
    ACT <Mobile No> <Operator Name> <Last 5 digits of Account No>
    Eg: ACT 9876543210 IDEA 12345

To deactivate the service, you need to send the following SMS to 73 08 08 08 08:

  • To deactivate a specific number:
    DACT <Mobile No>
  • To deactivate all numbers:
    DACT ALL

What is Paytm?

Paytm means Pay Through Mobile. It is a website where you can do data card recharges, bus tickets booking, online mobile recharges, bill payments, DTH recharges etc

In short, Paytm is the typical local market place where you can find everything and if they continue with current trend then you can literally find everything.

Paytm is also approved as an operating unit for Bharat Bill Payment System, as a result of which users can pay their bills anytime and anywhere.

How does Paytm work?

The primary revenue source is commissions from Telcos which ranges from  2%(for large & Established operators) to as high as 5% (for new  & small operators).

Since the large operators contribute to the bulk of the transaction volume, the average commission earned per transaction would typically be in the 2.5-3% range.

 

How to use Paytm and its Wallet?

 

How to create an account in Paytm?

Step 1: Visit paytm.com and click on the top-right side “Log in/ Sign up” button.

Step 2:  A pop-up box will appear after clicking on Log in/ Sign up” button just click on the “Sign up for Paytm Wallet” option.

Step 3: You need to enter your mobile number, email id and desired password and click on Continue.

Step 4: Paytm will send a Conformation code to your mobile number, enter that to confirm your mobile number and after that you should also verify your email id.

For Verifying your email id on Paytm you have to check your account page, and there you will see the option for verifying your email id.

After all that mobile and email id verification, don’t forget to complete your full profile like name and other details.

How to add money into Paytm wallet?

On Paytm.com: You can add money to your Paytm wallet in a few simple steps

Step 1: Log into your Paytm account and click on “Paytm Wallet” icon towards the top right of the page

Step 2: Enter the amount you want to add and click on “Add Money”

Step 3: You can choose to add money via Debit/ Credit card, Net Banking, IMPS or ATM card

Step 4: You will be redirected to a secure payment page where you need to provide payment details

Step 5: If you have any saved credit or debit card, it will be shown upfront and you only need to enter the CVV number and proceed to the bank page. If you do not have any saved credit or debit card, you can choose to save a card for faster payment next time.

Step 6: Once you enter details on your bank’s page & complete the transaction, you will be redirected to Paytm with money added in your Paytm wallet

Almost all steps remain same in adding money to wallet on Paytm app.

How to use Paytm App?

On Paytm App Download Paytm App from App Store available for IOS, Android & Windows.

Step 1: You can add money to your Paytm Wallet by selecting the Add Money tab on homepage.

Step 2: You can choose to add money via Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, IMPS or ATM card.

Step 3: Enter the amount you want to add and tap on “Add Money”.

Step 4: You will be redirected to a secure payment page where you need to provide payment details.

Step 5: If you have any saved credit or debit card, it will be shown upfront and you just need to enter CVV and proceed to bank page. If you do not have any saved card you can choose to save a credit or debit card for faster payment next time.

How to Send Paytm money to bank account ?

This feature is not available on Paytm.com, kindly download Paytm App to use this feature.

On Paytm App:

To send money to a bank using Paytm you need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Paytm App.

Step 2: Tap the Pay or Send icon.

Step 3: Tap the Send to Bank option.

Step 4: Enter the Name you want to give to this beneficiary.

Step 5: Enter the account number.

Step 6: Enter the IFSC code of the branch. You can get the IFSC code by tapping the Get IFSC and selecting your bank and branch.

Step 7: Enter the amount you want to send. Minimum amount should be Rs 500.

Step 8: You can also enter the reason for sending money, however this is optional.

Step 9: Tap Send.

Step 10: Your money will be successfully transferred to the bank account.

For example: if you are transferring Rs 1000 to bank account.

You will be charged 4% = 1000*4/100 = Rs 40 (practically it is 41.67 ) as service fees.

You will be charged total Rs 1041.67 from Paytm wallet and will get Rs 1000 in your bank account.

4% charges matters for us that deducts for just sending money from Paytm to bank account. 

 

How to Use PayTM to Recharge Mobile/DTH/Datacard Online

 

Step 1: Visit Paytm.com and login to your PayTM account and then select which device you want to recharge. If you want to pay for your Data card then you can click on the data card tab.

Step 2: Fill out details like Data card number, operator, and amount of the data card which you want to recharge.

Step 3: Click on the Recharge button and complete the payment using any available payment options like the Credit card, debit card, net banking or any other.

Step 4: Now after successful payment your recharge will be done, enjoy you have just completed your first online recharge using PayTM.

How to make payment by scanning Paytm code (QR code) to merchants?

Now, you can go to a retail store, petrol pump, parking or take auto/taxi ride (where Paytm is accepted), make a transaction & pay via Paytm by scanning QR code.

For example: Suppose, if you visit a retail store and want to pay for your goods then owner will ask you whether you want to pay by Paytm or Cash.

Step 1: Open the Paytm app and click on “Pay or Send” button.

Step 2: Click on QR code icon and Scan the QR code of retail store.

Step 3: Enter the amount you need to pay for the goods.

Step 4: Click on Pay.

Step 5: You will receive payment confirmation along with completed time, merchant order number and transaction id

Step 6: Press OK.

How To Use Paytm Promo Code or Coupons

Step 1: Click on wallet (wallet icon)

Step 2: Enter amount which you want to add

Step 3: Click “Add to wallet” option

Step 4: Apply promo code if you have any in promotional/voucher field

Step 5: If you have not promo code then leave field blank and click on “Proceed to pay Rs.”

How to Recharge Your Mobile using Paytm Toll-Free Number

Call 1800-1800-1234 from your mobile to recharge without internet connection.

Step 1: Make sure you have added money to your Paytm Cash (wallet).
Step 2: Enable recharge through SMS / Toll free number on the profile page in My Account.

After the above steps, all you need to do is type 

Paytm <space> <amount> and send SMS to 988-000-1234.

Paytm have another option for you if you are not an SMS person.

Dial Toll free number 1800-1800-1234 from your registered mobile number and follow the instructions to recharge your phone.
